Montes de Maria Farm- Natural Process
  • Montes de Maria Farm- Natural Process

    The Story Behind the Farm

Alfonso is a fourth-generation coffee farmer who has been growing coffee since 1993. He named his farm Montes de Maria (Hill of Maria) to honor his mother’s hard work and dedication in starting the farm.

At first, Alfonso sold coffee cherries to middlemen, but after joining Good Coffee Farms in 2020, he started processing the cherries himself. He also helps nearby small farmers by harvesting and processing cherries they can’t handle on their own. Alfonso is proud that his coffee is enjoyed overseas and is excited to keep making high-quality coffee by trying new methods like dry washed, honey, and natural processes.
