Las Maronchas Farm- Honey Process
The Story Behind the Farm
Las Maronchas Farm takes its name from the nearby village of Maronchas, located close to the city of Coriz, one of our key bases in Guatemala. Perched in a scenic spot, the farm offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and a deep connection to its vibrant atmosphere.
This cherished farm has been in the hands of female farmer Jovita Jacobo's family for four generations. Jovita’s dedication brings to life coffee that captures the unique terroir of this land, delivering flavors with an irresistible charm. Each season, the farm produces coffee using three distinct processing methods—Dry Washed, Honey, and Natural—each offering its own delightful character. Maronchas Farm consistently delights us with its diverse and dependable flavor profiles.
In 2022, a severe drought prevented us from offering Maronchas as a single-farm lot. However, abundant rains during the 2023 rainy season brought renewed hope. Jovita shared encouraging updates about smooth flowering at the end of May, and when the coffee’s quality exceeded our expectations, we celebrated this triumph together. Jovita’s efforts to train and support coffee cherry pickers by improving their earnings also played a vital role in achieving a successful harvest. Thanks to the their dedication, 2023 marked a year of both growth and abundance for Maronchas Farm.
